We all know how to search the Internet these days. Google is without doubt the most popular search engine.
But this is not the only way people search the internet.
For example, most large companies will advertise their website in traditional media, such as television and radio advertising, and print media.
People then become familiar with the company's website and do not need to search for it using google or Yahoo etc.

The other way a website can become mainstream is through word of mouth. Some of my favourite websites are not household names but I have found out about them by word of mouth. Some of my favourites are listed below:
